Bloggers Brags Weekly Pinterest Party - Week 92

This week I haven't posted anything new, just soaking up the rest of summer before my kids head back to school this week. We have had a backyard slip n slide play date, friends over for a bbq, a beach day with more grilling and s'mores and lots of laughing and a fundraiser movie night at our local playground.  We even took advantage of Kids Bowl Free at our favorite bowling spot, which I totally need to write up a post about. Oh and we beat the heat this weekend by going to the mall and doing some back to school shopping. My daughter wants me to share her new favorite outfits, so I'll try to do that this week. Bloggers Brags Weekly Pinterest Party - Week 91

August is bringing me a lot to think about, back to school, planning a few more summer worthy outings with the kids, getting back to a regular routine and how quickly summer always seems to pass even if there are moments I can't wait for that first day of school....

We've done a majority of our back to school shopping like clothes and shoes and basic school supplies and even lunch boxes. Of course the kids want to wear all their new clothes right now and I am like "absolutely not!" Today we will pick up the new glasses that we ordered for Amberly. If you have a little one that wears glasses you'll want to be sure to see the crazy low price for back to school that JCPenney offers right now:

And of course you'll want to make sure the kids are looking sharp with new hair cuts, so take advantage of the online check in at Great Clips so you can spend more time savoring summer:

Today happens to be one of our favorite days of summer.... National S'mores Day! We will be celebrating with traditional s'mores tonight in our backyard with friends but we enjoyed s'mores brownies yesterday when we went to a slip n slide party! There are many ways to enjoy s'mores and we hope to keep working on this list since summer really isn't over until Labor Day, right?

Bloggers Brags Weekly Pinterest Party - Week 90

I have some amazing roundups to share with you this week! And if you have a sweet tooth I think you'll appreciate them even more. Last week was National Cheesecake Day and I shared my Never Ending Love Affair with the famous dessert by collecting some of the most incredible cheesecake recipes from pinterest (you know how much I've been loving pinterest lately!). I was inspired to put this together after I was invited to be part of a twitter party sharing the awesomeness of The Cheesecake Factory (one of my all time favorite places to eat out). And then this coming Monday (August 10th) is National S'mores Day! We have celebrated the last few years and in anticipation of this fun nostalgic summer treat I put together a Summer Bucket List of all the ways I want to make s'mores. So far we've gotten through 3.... but that's okay we still have plenty of time to squeeze in a few more from this awesome list. By the way, there's one dessert that shows up in both of these roundups...  can you figure out which one it is?

These two salads are going on my SALAD pinterest board! I love a good salad and have been wanting to add more kale to our diet so the Apricot Pecan Kale Salad from My Life Cookbook caught my eye right away, plus it looks like the perfect side dish for anything you grill up this summer! 

Greek salad is one of my favorites and I think the spin My Life Cookbook puts on it is worth giving a try.... first I just need to get my hands on one of those spiralizer kitchen tools! This Greek Zucchini Salad is a complete meal with lots of color that will be showing up on our dinner table soon.

Bloggers Brags Weekly Pinterest Party - Week 89

This has been a busy summer! We've been able to enjoy many of the things from our Summer Bucket List and summer is starting to wind down. I think the kids go back to school in just 3 weeks. We've been working on our Back to School list.... it seems like a lot to tackle but since we're starting early we're going to avoid a lot of the typical back to school stress! Be sure to check out how to save more minutes with your child's back to school haircut (there's a $25 giveaway so be sure to head over and enter!)

Last week I paid homage to the chocolate banana dessert from my childhood with this kiddie parfait. The kids loved it and we now know granola is not the only option when it comes to giving your parfait a little crunch.

I finally got this post finished about our Minion Movie Party at the Drive In complete with a Minion inspired snack, drink and party hats! If your kids love the Minions then you need to pin this post for future party ideas. We have definitely discovered a new family summer tradition. Going to the drive in has always been fun, but this took it up a few notches.
